1. What is the CSCA?
什么是来华留学学业水平考试？
The China Scholastic Competency Assessment (CSCA) is a new, unified standardized test for international students applying to undergraduate programs in China. Administered by the China Scholarship Council, it evaluates academic readiness and foundational knowledge.
中国学业水平考试（CSCA）是一项面向来华留学本科申请者的新型统一标准化考试，由中国奖学金委员会主办，旨在评估学生的学术能力和基础知识。
2. Am I required to take the CSCA exam?
我必须要参加CSCA考试吗?
No, it is not compulsory for non-degree, master, and doctoral programs applicants, and it is also not compulsory for bachelor degree programs applicants who don't apply for 306 CSC Chinese universities.
不是的，非学历和硕博申请人不是必须要参加CSCA考试，而且申请非306所中国政府奖学金院校的本科项目的申请人也不是必须要参加此考试。
However, starting in 2026, all applicants to undergraduate programs (including scholarship and self-financed programs) at 306 CSC universities must take CSCA Exam. The test score will be a mandatory prerequisite.
但是自2026年起，所有申请306所中国政府奖学金院校的本科项目（含奖学金项目和自费项目）的申请人需要参加CSCA考试，成绩将作为必备的申请材料。
3. What subjects are included in the exam?
考试包括哪些科目？
The exam includes four subjects: Professional Chinese, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.
Professional Chinese
*Offers two types: Liberal Arts Chinese and Science Chinese. Applicants to Chinese-taught undergraduate programs must take the corresponding test based on their major.
*Applicants to English-taught programs are exempt from the Professional Chinese test.
*Applicants to the Chinese Language major with a valid HSK Level 4 certificate are also exempt.
Basic Subjects
*Mathematics is mandatory for all applicants.
*Physics and Chemistry are optional. Universities may require one or both based on the program.
Test Language
Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry offer bilingual test papers (Chinese/English). Applicants can choose the language based on their program’s teaching language.

4. Can I take it if I’m not applying for a CSC university?

5. When can I register, and what are the fees?

1. Registration Period
Please check the official website (https://csca.cn) for specific dates.
2. Exam Fees
*Single subject: 450 RMB
*Two or more subjects: 700 RMB

6. When are the exams held, and how many sessions per year?
考试一般安排在什么时间？一年有几次机会？
Exam Schedule (Beijing Time):
Professional Chinese: 13:00-14:30
Mathematics: 15:30-16:30
Physics: 17:30-18:30
Chemistry: 19:30-20:30
Starting in 2026, the CSCA exam will be held five times a year in January, March, April, June, and December.
具体时间安排（北京时间）：
专业中文：13:00-14:30
数学：15:30-16:30
物理：17:30-18:30
化学：19:30-20:30
自2026年起，CSCA考试每年分5次组织，时间分别安排在1月、3月、4月、6月及12月。
7. How is the exam administered?
考试通过什么形式进行？
The CSCA exam offers three formats:
1. Computer-based testing at authorized test centers
2. Paper-based testing at authorized test centers
3. Online proctored testing from home
Initially, online testing will be the primary format, with offline test centers gradually established in key regions and countries.
CSCA考试提供三种形式：
1. 集中机考：在授权考点通过电脑参加考试。
2. 纸笔考试：在授权考点以传统纸笔形式参加考试。
3. 居家网考：在家参加考试，由在线监考员实时监控。
考试初期以居家网考为主，同时逐步在重点生源国家和地区设立线下考点。
8. How can I check my scores after the exam?
考试完成后，如何查询成绩？
After the exam, you can check your scores on the official website (https://csca.cn).
Online and computer-based test scores: Released within 7 working days.
Paper-based test scores: Released within 14 working days.
考试结束后，可登录CSCA官方网站（https://csca.cn）查询成绩。
居家网考和集中机考：成绩在考后7个工作日内公布。
纸笔考试：成绩在考后14个工作日内公布。
9. How is the CSCA scored and reported?

Scoring: Each subject is graded on a 100-point scale.
Additional Data: Universities can see an applicant's percentile ranking among global test-takers.

附加数据: 高校可查看申请者在全球考生中的百分位排名。
10. Is CSCA required for Spring 2026 intake?

It depends. Requirements vary by institution and are subject to each university's specific application criteria.

11. What is the min. score for 306 CSC universities?

Therefore, it is advisable for students to take the exam and obtain their score report, irrespective of whether they are applying for a CSC-affiliated undergraduate program or not.
视学校而定，目前一些学校仅要求学生提供CSCA考试成绩单，未对具体分数有要求。
